We bought a set of 36 of these avant-garde high-back chairs for a new fine-dining restaurant project in the center of Brera, and Mamma Mia, they are incredible. In Italy, our clients are extremely demanding about furniture—it cannot just look good, it must have soul and excellent artigianato (craftsmanship). This design completely nailed the brief.
The combination of the dark black oak and that emerald leopard velvet is pure drama. The velvet fabric is very premium, heavy, and has a beautiful sheen under the evening spot lighting. It does not look cheap or tacky at all, which is always the risk with animal prints. The high-back silhouette gives a great sense of intimacy and luxury to the dining tables.
From a technical trade side, the ash wood frame is very solid. In hospitality, guests are hard on chairs, so we always check the joints and the weight capacity. These are sturdy and well-leveled, no wobbling at all. My only very small critique is that the foam padding on the seat is quite firm at first. It is good for commercial durability so it won’t sag after two months, but it needs a bit of breaking in for maximum comfort.
Shipping to Europe took a bit of time with customs paperwork, but the packing was done with extreme care—wrapped like mummies so no scratches on the black lacquer. Very happy with this supplier, they understand luxury hospitality standards. We will definitely use them again for our next lounge bar project.
