Timeless Nordic Craftsmanship
The rst-c2018 by RST Designer Furniture is an exquisite embodiment of Scandinavian functionalism. Meticulously carved from premium White Ash wood, this chair celebrates the natural beauty of organic textures while maintaining a sleek, modern profile. The wood is finished in sophisticated Walnut or Black Oak stains, allowing the intricate grain patterns of the ash to remain a central design feature.
Exceptional Ergonomic Design
Sculpted Wrap-Around Support
This model is defined by its signature continuous backrest and armrest structure. The steam-bent wooden frame creates a gentle curve that cradles the user, providing integrated lumbar and arm support without the need for bulky upholstery. This lightweight yet incredibly strong architecture makes it an ideal choice for both minimalist homes and high-traffic commercial environments.
Premium Seating Comfort
To balance the solid wood frame, the rst-c2018 features a high-density foam seat cushion upholstered in professional-grade leatherette. Available in earth-toned colors like olive green and tan, the seat is designed at a standard 470mm(≈ 18.50 in) height, ensuring it pairs perfectly with executive desks or high-end dining tables.
Bespoke Customization for Global Projects
As with all RST Designer Furniture collections, this piece is fully customizable. We offer tailored services for architects and interior designers, including adjustable wood paint finishes and a vast library of upholstery materials to ensure the final product aligns with your unique brand identity or interior theme.

Lucas Lindström –
Specifying seating for a high-traffic hotel restaurant and lounge area in central Stockholm usually requires a painful compromise between clean, minimalist design lines and the rugged structural demands of a commercial space. Most residential-grade Nordic armchairs look incredibly sleek on paper but start splintering at the joints after facing a few months of intense guest turnover. Integrating 50 of these solid ash wood armchairs into our latest premium lounge project has completely solved that structural headache.
Closer inspection of the wrap-around backrest design during our initial quality audit revealed a brilliant piece of manufacturing craftsmanship. The curve provides a very natural, embracing support that allows hotel guests to sit comfortably for hours during casual working lunches or late-night drinks, eliminating the need for oversized, bulky lounge chairs that kill floor plan efficiency. The solid ash timber has an impressive weight and density to it, while the natural wood grain shows through beautifully under soft, warm architectural lighting.
From an operational maintenance perspective, the protective lacquer coating is exceptionally well applied. Daily commercial wipe-downs with damp cloths and mild sanitizers haven’t dulled the surface or caused the grain to rise, and accidental coffee or red wine spills wash right off the premium upholstered seat without leaving stubborn stains or watermark rings. The structural joints remain dead silent and absolutely rigid, showing zero sway or creaking even when handling larger patrons.
A minor hiccup occurred during the shipping phase when the maritime freight carrier delayed the container drop at the Port of Gothenburg due to a local dockworkers’ strike, causing a bit of a panic with our hard opening date fast approaching. Thankfully, the logistics desk at RST stayed proactive, handling the alternative overland routing documentation seamlessly and keeping our on-site assembly team fully informed until the pallets arrived safely wrapped.
Procurement officers and interior architects looking to capture an authentic, premium Scandinavian aesthetic without sacrificing heavy-contract durability will find these armchairs an outstanding investment. They look expensive, they hold up beautifully to real-world abuse, and they elevate the entire atmosphere. Another order is already being planned for our upcoming boutique resort project in Gothenburg next winter.
